Melbourne CBD
Published 1 year, 11 months ago in Eat & Drink.Hello,
I’m wondering if anyone can recommend some good non-fast-food, reasonably priced places to eat in Melbourne CBD, particularly around the Flinders St, Swanston St, Fed Square sort of block and surrounds. I know there must be heaps but I don’t know where to start.
Thanks

Sorry for the random, irrelevant comment, but that is an awesome avatar!
I agree that is awesome! Dare I say iPod worthy… lucky for everyone I can’t judge the contest.
Thank you for all comments. I’d love to take credit for the avatar, but I could only dream I was that talented. Nope, I just found it.
At the risk of increasing the queue… Yens Noodles :

get the hokkien noodle with chicken with sweet soy spicy thai sauces.
Fish n chips further down are ok too, but not that cheap.
you have to try the chinese dumplings down Tattersalls Lane off Lt Bourke - only $6.50 for 15 dumplings in soup - there are two places down there that do good dumplings. I also like Spicy Noodle Cafe nr cnr of Latrobe and Swanston. Saw a new cheap Indian place the other day but haven’t tried it yet - Funky Curry (i think?) up near Allans Music on Bourke. Indian is always good!
DonDon on Swanston.
Hako on Degraves St.
Supper Inn off Little Bourke - try the chilli quail.
Choix crepes off Collins (Spencer Street end).
